GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE REFORM ?
73DOES GOVERNMENT WANT TO TAKE OVER OUR HEALTHCARE
Does Government want to take over our HEALTHCARE by forcing
Health insurance companies out of business. In the early morning on December 24, 2009, the Senate voted to approve the HEALTH REFORM BILL on a party line vote.
Many of the polls that were taken by various pollsters showed that the majority of citizens were not in favor of the proposed Healthcare bill The people who participated in the polls were against the proposed Health Reform package 55% to33%.
The proposed Healthcare Reform bill including the managers amendment did not allow the Senators sufficient time, 72 hours to review the final bill that was voted on that morning. The minority party's( Republicans ) attempts to stop the vote were unsuccessful. It was evident that many members did not read or debate the final Healthcare Reform bill before casting their vote. The 72 hour requirement was not adhered to by majority leader Senator Reid and the Democrats in the Senate. The voting on the Healthcare bill proceeded upon objections from the minority Republican members. The bill was passed on a party line vote, the Senate adjourned and left Washington as planned.

What should be most disturbing to the people is that none of some very important amendments proposed by the Republican minority was not allowed to be debated and voted on. Important issues such as tort reform, approval to sell insurance across state lines and taxation were rejected by the Democrat majority.
The Health Reform Bill now proceeds to member committees of the House and the Senate. Their mission will be to piece together a Health Reform Package that will be debated and voted on by the Senate and the House. Congress will send the Healthcare bill to the President for his signing the bill into law. In both the House and Senate versions of the Healthcare Reform BillL, there were conflicting versions of important features of the bill. Surely those topics will need to be compromised by one of the parties in order for the bill to proceed to becoming law..
Healthcare costs have sky rocketed and continues to rise. The increase in healthcare insurance costs according to members of Congress and the President is that health insurance companies overcharge and the companies are making huge profits on providing medical insurance. Many families have not been able to cover the increases in family health insurance. The families are in a precarious position should they need healthcare services.
The Health Reform Bill’s intention was to provide health insurance for the uninsured, reduce healthcare costs and make it more affordable to more citizens The Health Reform bill in it's present form will increase costs, create additional government agencies, force citizens to purchase insurance or be fined by the government, taxed or penalized including employers if they do not comply with certain parts of the Health Reform Bill.
REFER
The Congressional Budget Office ( CBO ) has made statements on the cost of the Health Reform bill that have been questionable. One must wonder as to how the CBO can arrive to a conclusion since they have not reviewed the final bill. The CBO states that the bill will be deficit neutral. It should be noted that Medicare was cut $500 billion and payments to provider's fees will be further reduced.
President Obama made statements that he will not sign a bill that increases the national debt and the deficit. Let's all hope that President Barak Obama will keep his word. The Health Reform Legislation once it is signed by the President will have an immediate impact on the health insurance industry. .
The Government will in essence be collecting fees that pay for services that will not be available until 2014.Can we the people trust our Government to put those monies aside for us until 2014 when the Social Security Trust Fund and Medicare Trust Fund will be bankrupt shortly? Every citizen should be concerned and become knowledgeable as to the contents of the Health Reform Law.
The Health Care Law will effect each group in our country, the rich, the poor and the middle class. Take note that close to 50% of our citizens do not pay federal taxes today. It remains as to which class will carry the burden to fill the US Treasury so that our government will be able to function as the U S Constitution requires.
In Conclusion:
With unemployment at 10% or more, it would appear that raising taxes on working families and business would not be in the best interest in these troubling times. The Health Reform plan raises taxes, increases the deficit and increases the national debt. Fellow Americans, now it is time that '' we the people'' should be questioning our elected officials that we sent to Washington.
1. Why they voted against the will of the people by voting for the health care bill?
2. Why did they vote on an incomplete document that they did not read prior to casting their vote?
The Health Reform law will effect both the young , the old and all legal and non legal people in our country WAKE UP AMERICA before it's too late, call your Congressional representatives and make them accountable for their actions.

Thank you for writing this important and informative Hub! You make alot of excellent and insightful points, that anyone following this issue should pay attention to!
" The 72 hour requirement was not adhered to by majority leader Senator Reid and the Democrats in the Senate."
It would be interesting to see if this violation could be brought before the courts.
"President Obama made statements that he will not sign a bill that increases the national debt and the deficit. Let's all hope that President Barak Obama will keep his word."
This would be a miracle in itself! The republican minorities proposals were the only ideas that had any chance of holding costs down were not even voted on, as you pointed out! Deregulating every nock and cranny of the healthcare industy along with incentiving health savings accounts, is what it would take to bring down the costs, anything less is just political mumbo jombo!
JON EWALL- I had the same feeling myself, i hope your wrong!

I understand what you are saying. I see no help to the American people overall in this Bill. I only see the Health Industry benefiting from it and basically "enslaving" Americans to Insurers. It should be scraped and they should start over or leave it alone. Is the Health and Insurance industry out of control, Yes! But, let's not cause more damage.
