Barak Obama, The Present,The Past

76

By JON EWALL

It's all about Barack Obama, the present, the past and '' let me be clear ''.

It's been very quiet since the healthcare reform bill was passed. The press is keeping the problems in the background except for the big companies complaining about the cost.

The jobs for the private sector, nowhere in sight after 17 months. Unemployment went up to 9.9% from 9.7%. President Obama said we are coming out of the recession ( the one he says he inherited with a democrat controlled congress 2007,2008,2009 and now 2010 ).

Check out my old hub

Let us look back to what candidate Obama pledged to the American people if elected. President Barak Obama pledged:

1.To bring back the jobs lost in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 the nations

unemployment went from 7% in 2008 to 10%( in some areas

17% ). Obama’s administration bailed out the auto industry,

banking industry, saved the union workforce and even helped the

unions get ownership in the companies by forcing the creditors to

lose their financial investments in the companies. The Obama

administration has increased the size of government by 10%, added

more union jobs and commissions. Government unemployment

stands at 3% and government employees and congress did get a raise.

in 2009 while the deficit increased.

2.To fix the economic problems by passing the $787 billion Tarp

bill (congress passed the bill without reading or debating the bill

as required by constitutional rules.), promised that unemployment

would not exceed 8% and shovel ready jobs were available to jump

start the economy. As of today approximately 60% of Tarp has not

been spent and unemployment remains at 10%. Recently the CBO

projected Tarp will need $85 billion more added to the $787 billion

bill. One should note that all of the above is borrowed money adding

to the nations skyrocketing debt.

3.To have fiscal responsibility and control spending, Barak Obama

promised to go line for line and strike out pork in the Tarp bill. The

president signed the Tarp bill without cutting any pork out of the bill.

On wed.1/27/10 in the state of the union speech Obama stated he

would put a freeze on spending. Congress on 1/29/10 passed

legislation to raise the national debt by another $1.9 billion, the

second increase in 60 days, raising the debt ceiling to$14.5 trillion.

4.To rid Washington of lobbyist and special interest groups. Presently

in his administration Barak Obama has at least 30 lobbyist, some

appointments are know as czars. Obama has been meeting with

union officials ( special interest )at the white house on a regular basis.

5.To surround himself with experienced and capable people, like tax

cheaters, Marxist, communist and socialist. known as czars. These

employees were not background investigated as required by the FBI.

The question remains as to why the procedure was exempted. .

6.To have an open transparent government and to allow C-Span to

televise the debates and congressional meetings. Folks it didn’t

happen, C-Span was denied access (that is called censorship.) The

president and the democrats met behind closed doors denying the

minority party’s participation in the negotiations. By the way the

minority party was elected by the people to represent the people.

Essentially the people were locked out and ignored.

7 To close gitmo last year. The president sent some prisoners to

Bermuda, a terrific propaganda move. More could be said but for now

a continuing story to be told. Gitmo is still open.

8.To end the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the president and his advisers

are talking in the whitehouse. To be continued .

9.To give 95% of the people a tax break and not to tax anyone below

$250,000, by the way according to some officials the ceiling has

dropped down to $100,000 with a possibility to $85,000 due to lack of

money coming into the treasury.

Check this out, president Obama and congress will tax the rich.

If 2 or 3% are the rich and they pay 50% of federal taxes, according to

Obama 50% of the nation don’t pay federal taxes, I wonder who will be

paying the taxes. ( the middle class )?FUZZY MATH?

10.To not allow no bid contracts in his administration. A major news

source reported that Obama approved a $25 million no bid contract to a

donor of his campaign. The contract recently was cancelled after being

exposed by the media..

11. To reduce the deficit by 50% in his first term. The fact is that the

Obama administration has triple the deficit in his first year in office.

The proposed budget for 2011($3.85 trillion )given to congress will

be the largest ever in our history if passed by congress.

The above information you will not see in the bias press or reported

on ABC,CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, or other liberal news medias.

Watch C-Span or Fox News, they report and broadcast the actual

uncensored news

The presidents rating is ‘’F’’ in his first year ?

Not even close to keeping his campaign promises.

Obama isn't doing a good job, but the media is far worse. Not ony are they not reporting the news, they've become a propoganda machine for Obama. The media is 'enabling' him.

Just 2 days ago when President Obama was in Buffalo pushing his recovery bill,Obama told the people that the Republicans caused the recession and that the Republicans are the reason that unemployment is so high.

President Obama has a short memory, I guess he forgot that he was in Congress in 2007 and 2008 and that the democrat party took majority control of congress in 2007 ( unemployment in DEC 2006 was 4.6% ), it only took 1 year for his party to take the country into a recession.

The people are still looking for the jobs that he promised.

Candidate Obama told us that his goal is to fundamentally change America. President Obama swiftly and boldly is doing just that with the help of the democrat super majority congress.

The many promises that were made in the campaign have not been accomplished. He has attacked the Republicans in congress ,attacked Fox News and now the Tea Party protesters. How, when and where will the country be headed in the upcoming elections in Nov.

The American people hopefully will recognize what is happening in our nation before the Obama congress takes over another industry.

At Fox News, Glen Beck supports the tea party non violent protests happening in the country.

The liberal faction of the nation we love and cherish has been somewhat disturbed.

The Obama gang of radicals including the media are on the attack to discredit the movement..

I truly believe Obama and the dems really thought the American people could be stuped. Ain't gonna happen. Primaries are showing it. Mid-terms will definitely be telling. 2012 will see the end of the worst president ever in American history.

AN UPDATE

1.To bring back the jobs lost in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 the nations

Unemployment went from 7% in 2008 to 10%( now it's about 9.9% )

Presently the private sector jobs haven't materialized yet. Congress would rather extend jobless benefits again, adding more to the deficit, before providing the necessary legislation to beef up the private sector.

Jon last months employment report was hugely disappointing - 100k below estimates in job gains and of the around 440 job gains 420k were from the census! No doubt the attack on BP rather than concrete actions in the clean up have a little bit of 'changing the suject' from the economy in them. Even though this will a actually hurt said job numbers even more.

Jon, I think you’re a reasonably intelligent man. But this Hub is full of half truths and very scarce when it comes to fact checking.

I won’t defend everything Obama has done, or failed to do so far as president, but I lost count of all the erroneous statements you made. Here are just a few. (I should admit, I’m writing this nearly a year after you wrote it, so I have the benefit of another year of hindsight.)

When Obama took office, our economy was losing 750,000 jobs per month. After the stimulus was passed, that number dropped rapidly and within a year we were adding jobs. Now we’re adding nearly 200,000 private sector jobs a month. That’s a improvement of nearly 1 million jobs per month, although job growth is still slow.

By the way, Obama has not appointed any “Czars”. Not one. Obama has about the same number of presidential appointments as Bush did.

If you hate the TARP bill, you can blame both parties equally. John Boehner cried, actually sobbed, on the floor of Congress pleading with Republicans to vote for the bill.

Oh, and Obama did tighten up regulations regarding lobbyists and signed an executive order banning anyone from his administration from becoming a lobbyist after leaving office.

Most of the debates on the health care reform bill were, in fact, televised on CSPAN in congressional committee meetings and Republicans were involved in every step of the process. Back room deals between Democrats and Republicans are still business as usual with the Republican Congress.

The stimulus package did, in fact, include tax breaks for 95% of Americans. Although, to my disappointment, he did not let the tax cuts expire for the wealthiest 2%.

I understand your confusion on all these things, though, since you claim Fox News reports and broadcasts the “uncensored” news.

Let's compare Obama's first 2 years to Reagan's first 2 years in office.

When Reagan became president, the unemployment rate was 7.5%. After 2 full years of Reaganomics, the unemployment rate had risen to 10.8%, higher than it ever got under Obama.

It took Reagan over two and a half years to get unemployment below 9% which is still higher than it was when he took office.

Obama inherited a much worse economic situation than Reagan did and managed to stop the rise in unemployment in half the time it took Reagan.

It seems to me that in turning around the worst economic recession in 70 years, Obama has done far better, far quicker than Reagan did.

We are adults? You have on some occasions disagreed with what my posts say, that’s ok.

1.this Hub is full of half truths and very scarce when it comes to fact checking.

If you try to fact check on the liberal blogs, George Soros money backed organizations and in many cases the mainstream media and press, be aware that they will not report the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The same way Obama tells it, one way on camera and then just the opposite in actuality.

2.’’erroneous statements you made ‘’’’When Obama took office ‘’ in 2009

In 2007 the Democrats including Senator Obama took majority control of Congress. We can agree that it is Congress’s job to pass budgets for spending and that the Democrats had control of passing laws. The recession started in Dec 2007 and supposedly ended in march of 2009.Pelosi and Reid have had a majority control of Congress from 2007 to 2010.

3.’’the TARP bill, you can blame both parties equally. John Boehner cried, actually sobbed,’’ the Democrat majority didn’t need any Republicans to vote for Tarp.

4.’’Obama did tighten up regulations regarding lobbyists and signed an executive order banning anyone from his administration from becoming a lobbyist after leaving office.’’

The regulations were there already for Congress. Big deal, It will be business as usual anyhow.

5.’’include tax breaks for 95% of Americans. ‘’that’s what Obama said. Who are these people? Tax breaks, do you mean tax credits, there is a big difference between the two.

50% of the people don’t pay taxes, 2% of the people pay 50%+? of the taxes and you know who pays the rest. Now you see it and now you don’t, magic I guess.

6. ‘’health care reform bill were, in fact, televised on CSPAN in congressional committee meetings and Republicans were involved ‘’ Yes C-Span did televise the voting , that’s it.

The Democrat leaders allowed NO debate and NO amendments .Congress didn’t read the bill before it was voted on during the weekend. The bill wasn’t on the floor when the vote was taken. House rules require bills to be on the floor before a vote is taken. The Dems were still changing the bill, is that transparent government.Obama, Pelosi and Reid promised open transparent government if elected. Pelosi said it right ‘’ we need to pass the bill so that we know what’s in it ‘’ Have you forgotten how the bill eventually got passed ? Bribes, payoffs and special promises for the necessary votes.

7.‘’Obama inherited a much worse economic situation ‘’when someone is a part of the problem, how is it you can inherit the problem?

‘’turning around the worst economic recession in 70 years, Obama has done far better, far quicker than Reagan did.’ Where have you been to conclude that the economic conditions have been turned around when the government has multi year $1+ trillion deficits, the national debt ceiling has been increased 2 times up to $14.3 trillion.Obama and the Senate still hasn’t come up with the 2010-2011 budget. The CBO projects a $1.56 trillion deficit.

Jeff61b, on 2 occasions repliers to my hubs told me that they were going to fact check my hub, I did not hear anymore about the hubs contents afterward .On 1 occasion a hubber reported a erroneous statement, he was right and I apologized for the error. I welcome any hubbers to report to me any untruth statements. It is apparent that you take for granted that my statements are incorrect because you can’t find the facts. I only ask if you do find a incorrect statement to allow me to respond to you. Your input on my hubs simply help to make them better. Thank you

AN UPDATE!10/6/11

The Democrats have had 2/3's control of the Government since 2007 to Sept. 30,2011. How come you didn't mention them for their contribution to the American Dream, whatever that means in your thoughts.

The American Dream in 2009 to the present. The Pew Hispanic Center reported that 6.1 million Hispanic children are poor compared with 5 million non-Hispanic white children and 4.4 million black children. The number of poor Hispanic children is at a record high, black children have a higher rate of poverty, 39%, compared with 35% for Hispanic children. The overall rate for white children is about 12%. The recession put more children of all races and ethnicities into poverty. The poverty rate for black children increased twice as fast. The 40,000 on food stamps, the 14+ million on unemployment and all time poverty rates are records of the Obama- Democrat majority control of the government. The Republicans as of Jan.2011 having control of only 1/3 of the government seems to be blamed for the existing problems. It is difficult to understand since the Republican House has a 2012 budget and passed 8 jobs bills that are in the Senate waiting to be put on the Senate floor for passage. The president has 2 jobs bill that was passed waiting for his signature. Lately when the President signs legislation, the media seems to be inattentive and missing from the event.
